2008 Camper Scholarship Application Eligible campers may qualify for a whole or partial scholarship for a week of camp at Scioto Hills Christian Camp.Dear Camper: We, the church family of Wheelersburg Baptist Church, are delighted that you are interested in summer camp at Scioto Hills! We are convinced that your week at camp will be very rewarding. Camper scholarships are made possible through love gifts from the members and friends of Wheelersburg Baptist Church. -Pastor Brad & Pastor Matt INSTRUCTIONS: Please read the recommendations before filling out both forms (Camper Scholarship Application & Scioto Hills Camp Registration) and return to Wilma DeCamp at WBC by Wednesday, March 26,2008. *After this deadline scholarships are greatly limited.Two Recommendations for Camper Scholarship Consideration: 1. We understand that there may be financial difficulties that could possibly hinder some from attending a week of camp at Scioto Hills and that is why we are glad to offer assistance through the Camper Scholarship program. However, we would like to encourage potential campers and their family members to make any possible financial arrangements, such as setting aside a budgetedamount each week, to provide as much financial support as possible for camp tuition. We requestyour cooperation and responsibility in this so that, in turn, we may assist as many children as possible in experiencing a week of camp at Scioto Hills. 2. Attendance and participation in all regular services and activities pertaining to: AWANA, Youth, Sunday Mornings, and Sunday Evenings at Wheelersburg Baptist Church are greatly encouraged for those applying for the Camper Scholarship. Preference in the awarding of the scholarships will be given to those who have faithfully been involved at Wheelersburg Baptist Church. Scripture Memory: Because we understand and value the importance of God’s Word in our lives, we have a required memory versecomponent to the application process. There will be separate verses for junior, junior high, and senior highcampers as listed on the back. These verses need to be memorized and recited to a Sunday School or AWANA Teacher by Wednesday, March 26, 2008. *This application without the memory verse component may not beconsidered for a Camper Scholarship. Quest or Revolution Memory Verse (Entering Grades 9-12) Colossians 2:6-8 – So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
